Zucchini 500 Returns to Easton Public Market this Weekend!

July 26, 2019

Ladies and gentlemen, start your engines!

The Zucchini 500 is zooming back to the Easton Farmers’ Market on Saturday, July 27. Join in the fun from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Centre Square in Easton. Kids ages 3-15 and adults (16+) can try to squash the competition as they carve zucchinis donated by Scholl Orchards, Cabbage Throw Farms, and Salvaterra Gardens into sports cars, midsize vehicles or monster trucks in the 13th annual festival. How exactly are you supposed to turn a zucchini into a lightning-fast race car?

Easton Farmers’ Market has all the supplies needed to soup up your zuke — wheels, axles, carving tools and decorations ($7). The Zucchini 500 pit crew will also be on hand to offer their car-building expertise. Participants can start carving at 9 a.m. in the Crayola Plaza. Races begin at 11 a.m. and are officiated by NASCAR official Peter Brohl. All participants will receive a 2019 Zucchini 500 racing medallion.
