The Lehigh Valley Zoo’s Run Wild 5k/10k for Animal Conservation sponsored by St. Luke’s University Health Network is one of our biggest fundraisers of the year!
Enjoy one of the most picturesque running trails in all of Pennsylvania! Your 5K or 10K trek will take you through the Trexler Game Preserve, a serene animal sanctuary that totals more than 1200 acres. Your fun race will end inside the Lehigh Valley Zoo as you run past our zebras, oryx, camels, ostrich, and kangaroos, and end at our St Luke’s Giraffe Barn where Murphy and Tatu will be cheering you on!
The Zoo’s Run Wild takes place on August 17, 2019. The 5k will start at 8:30 and the10k Beast will follow at 8:45 AM. The races start in the Zoo’s parking lot. There will be separate award ceremonies after each race on the zoo sun deck.
AFRICA ENRICHMENT DAY

Did you know the Lehigh Valley Zoo is home to over 10 species of animals that are native to Africa?
Join us on Sunday, August 18th to learn more about these animals’ native habitats, diets, and conservation status. We’ll have an assortment of crafts and activities geared toward some of these species!
Don’t miss out on an educational Keeper Talk with our friendly and knowledgeable Zookeepers! Make sure to get your tickets to feed our two Masai Giraffe. Giraffe feedings will be held daily from 11:30AM-12: 30 PM and again from 2:00PM-3: 00 PM!
Zoocoustic Night at the Zoo

Looking for the perfect excuse to hang out with friends and family while listening to a variety of music? Join us at the Lehigh Valley Zoo on Thursday, August 22 for our first ever Zoocoustic Night!
Come enjoy the Valley’s most unique music venue featuring acoustic music from local artists, including Kyle Baker, Erin Kelly & Guitarist, Steel Creek Duo, Stacy Gabel, Andrew Mark Schaffer, Zac Lawless, Seth Witcher, and Kendal Conrad!
Be sure to experience the zoo after hours when the animals are most active and enjoying their dinner meals! There will be 4 sections of the zoo where musicians will be playing simultaneously and music will be continuous from 5:30 PM through 9 PM.
Gates open at 5 PM | Music begins at 5:30 PM | Animals on exhibit until 6:45 PM | Music, Food, and Beverages available until 9 PM
We invite guests to explore the zoo, check out performances from local musicians, and enjoy a variety of beer, wine, seltzers, and ciders! Blankets, lawn chairs, and picnics are welcome. Food, beer, and wine are available for purchase. Tickets are available for purchase online in advance and at the gate.
