Heads up, Easton Area book lovers! The first annual Easton Book Festival is coming to town October 25-27th!
With over 150 authors and illustrators fanning out all over Easton to give readings, lectures, and sign copies of their books, this amazing literary event is the most exciting thing to happen in our town in --maybe forever!
The festival (technically TWO festivals--one for adults, and one for kids) will feature books and writers of every possible genre. There will be workshops and classes, readings, Q&A's with your favorite authors, and representatives from large and small publishing houses on hand with autographed copies of books.
The event is sponsored by many of your favorite local businesses and is being launched by Book and Puppet. It will take place in dozens of venues throughout Easton at the same time, so be sure to head over to the EBF website to start planning your family's book festival itinerary! Bookmark the site on your phone or computer so you can check weekly for updates, as the EBF adds authors, event locations, and times.
To assist in covering the costs of author transportation and housing and other festival expenses, the EBF has launched a crowd-sourcing campaign they hope you will share with your friends and family members. Any size donation--even $5--is welcome and will help ensure the success of this very special, HUGE Easton event! Here's a wonderful little video about the festival:
If you would like to volunteer to help out with the EBF, you can find more information on how to do so here. Teens can get school volunteer credits (and great experience) for their contribution of a few hours. There are many ways you can help out during the festival, so please reach out to the EBF if you have an interest in being a part of this event.
